Privacy
This site collects nothing from you directly. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no comments and no forms. There is nothing to fill in, so there is nothing to submit.

What is collected directly
Nothing by this site itself. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel, no tag manager, no session cookie and no login. The only script on any page is Google’s advertising script, described below.
What the host records
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of a request in order to serve it and to protect the site from attack and abuse — IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. Cloudflare also sets a bot-management cookie (__cf_bm) for that purpose.
This is standard infrastructure logging. It is handled by Cloudflare under its own privacy terms, and is used to deliver and protect the site rather than to profile you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Advertising
The Google AdSense script is loaded on every page
It is there so that Google can review the site for its advertising programme, and so that ordinary display advertising can cover hosting costs once approved. That script can set cookies whether or not an ad is currently displayed.
Because that script is present:
- Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s previous visits to this website.
Advertising, when it appears, will be labelled as advertising. It will never influence a rebate figure, a programme description, or the order in which programmes are listed. Those come from the administrators’ own pages and from nowhere else.
Links to other sites
Nearly every figure here links to the administrator’s own page — Natural Resources Canada, BC Hydro, FortisBC, Save on Energy, Enbridge Gas and others. Those sites have their own privacy policies and their own tracking, and this site has no control over and no responsibility for either.
If you write to [email protected], your message and address are used to reply to you and, where you have reported a wrong figure, to check and correct it. They are not added to any mailing list, and not shared or sold.
Children
This site is aimed at homeowners and renters making decisions about their homes. It is not directed at children and knowingly collects nothing from them.
Your rights
Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA, and provincial equivalents) gives you rights of access to and correction of personal information held about you. Since this site holds no personal information beyond what is described above, there is in practice very little to access — but questions are welcome at the address above.
Changes to this policy
If this changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
