The thing most pages get wrong

Rebate sites list AEP Ohio rebates of up to $500 for heat pumps and $300 for insulation and smart thermostats, and one calls HELP 'the only active utility heat pump program in Ohio'. AEP's list of home programs has no equipment rebates, and HELP's applications are paused for 2026.

Paused for customers, running for contractors

AEP's HELP contractor site lists 2026 training and contractor enrollment. It is new customer applications that are paused, with reopening promised this fall for 2027 assistance.

Why there are no rebates

Ohio's House Bill 6 ended every electric utility efficiency plan on 31 December 2020. HELP exists because AEP's 2024-2028 electric security plan included a low-income program.
