What it pays

No published cap — and that is the honest answer

The Department of Housing publishes no per-home maximum. The energy auditor decides the work; heating and cooling equipment is tested and tuned, and in some cases replaced.

What is done

  • Attic insulation, most typically
  • Shading for sun-exposed windows in homes with central air conditioning
  • Air leak control
  • Testing, tuning and maintaining heating and cooling equipment
  • Duct leakage reduction
  • Low-flow showerheads and other efficiency measures

The thing most pages get wrong

Arizona used to allow some weatherization money up to 400% of the poverty line. The Department of Housing's chart, revised 1 July 2026: 'The 400% FPL is no longer allowed for WAP funding as of 7.1.2026'. The line is now 200% for every fund, $66,000 for a family of four.

An outdated description on SRP's pages

SRP's rebate pages describe the state program as for households that qualify for Supplemental Security Income or 'Aid to Families with Dependent Children', a program replaced in 1996. The real test is the 200% income line above.
