What it pays

No published cap — and that is the honest answer

No federal dollar cap is published. CGHAP is direct-install: a delivery organisation pays the cost, the homeowner is never handed a number.

Where the application goes

In B.C. the delivery programme is the Energy Conservation Assistance Program, and your electricity utility decides which version you apply to, not where you live. NRCan says more provinces will be added as they come online.

The thing most pages get wrong

The Government of Canada is not accepting applications from households. Every application goes to a provincial or territorial programme. Any page offering a federal CGHAP application form is wrong.

Indigenous delivery

Funds flow through existing agreements managed by Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, and may also be used for training and other residential energy efficiency priorities.
