Florida ENERGY STAR appliance sales tax holiday closed

Administered by the Florida Department of Revenue.

Florida's year-long sales tax exemption on new ENERGY STAR appliances ended on 30 June 2024. In its last year, washers, dryers and water heaters up to $1,500 and refrigerators up to $4,500 were tax-free. The Department of Revenue's page still describes it as if it were running.

The thing most pages get wrong

The Department of Revenue's ENERGY STAR page still says consumers can buy qualifying appliances tax-free during the 2023-2024 holiday. It ended on 30 June 2024, and nothing has replaced it. Solar equipment is still exempt, under a separate, permanent law.
