Power Moves co-op rebates (Wabash Valley Power Alliance) open
Administered by Wabash Valley Power Alliance and its member electric co-ops.

What it pays
| System | Cold-climate heat pump | Other heat pump |
|---|---|---|
| Whole home, replacing electric resistance, gas, propane or oil | $1,800 | $750 |
| Whole home, replacing an air-source heat pump | $1,800 | $250 |
| Whole home, new construction | $1,800 | Not eligible |
| Partial home | $800 | $250 |
| Upgrade | Condition | Up to |
|---|---|---|
| Geothermal, closed loop | New construction, or replacing propane, oil, an air-source heat pump or electric resistance | $2,000 |
| Geothermal, open loop | The same cases | $1,000 |
| Geothermal replacing geothermal | $250 | |
| Dual fuel heat pump | Replacing electric resistance or a fossil furnace with AC, new homes, or added to a furnace | $500 |
| Heat pump water heater | 3.3 UEF or more; replacing electric, gas or propane; two per site | $800 |
A cold-climate heat pump reaches a coefficient of performance of at least 1.75 at 5 degrees, by NEEP's list. Whole-home rebates need a split system that heats with electricity only.

The thing most pages get wrong
A heat pump's co-op rebate depends on whether it is cold-climate. A whole-home cold-climate unit earns $1,800; a standard one $750, and only $250 if it replaces an existing air-source heat pump. Check NEEP's list before buying.
Natural gas is not on the geothermal list
The geothermal form pays for new construction or for replacing propane, fuel oil, an air-source heat pump, electric resistance or geothermal, and says a system replacing 'some other form of home heating beyond the five options listed above does not qualify'.
Not every co-op
These rebates come through Wabash Valley Power Alliance's member co-ops. Co-ops supplied by other wholesale suppliers, such as Hoosier Energy's members, are not covered here; ask your REMC.
