What disqualifies you

The rules people find out about after the work is done.

  • Replacing an existing heat pump.
  • New homes.
  • Seasonal residences.

Where the application goes

The contractor applies, not you.

The thing most pages get wrong

This is the ordinary rebate, and it is modest. An income-qualified household with electric heat gets the whole heat pump installed free through the Energy Efficiency Assistance Program instead, so check that first.

Financing

Manitoba Hydro's Home Energy Efficiency Loan lends up to $10,000 over 15 years for a cold-climate air source heat pump, on top of this rebate. Apply for the loan before any work or purchase.
