New England Heat Pump Accelerator instant discounts open

Administered by the New England Heat Pump Accelerator, a regional federally funded program run by VEIC, through participating distributors.

A federally funded regional program takes $650 per outdoor unit off a cold-climate air-source heat pump, $750 off an air-to-water or geothermal heat pump and $300 off a heat pump water heater in Massachusetts homes, as a discount your contractor gets from the distributor. It is open at every income, stacks with Mass Save and town rebates, and runs through December 2029.

The thing most pages get wrong

The Accelerator's homeowner page says 'Save up to $750'. That is the air-to-water and geothermal figure; the common cold-climate air-source heat pump gets $650 per outdoor unit, and a heat pump water heater $300.

Stacks with Mass Save

Mass Save's own heat pump page points to the Accelerator and says its sponsors do not run it; the Accelerator says customers in state and local programs can stack its incentives.

Reaches light plant towns

Light plants such as Norwood, Belmont and Danvers tell customers to ask the installing contractor about the $650 heat pump discount and the $300 water heater discount.
