Consumers Energy insulation and window rebates open
Administered by Consumers Energy, run by ICF.
Consumers Energy pays up to $475 for insulation, $15 a window and $40 a patio door, for contractor or do-it-yourself work. The $475 is the total for a natural gas customer who insulates the attic, walls, basement, crawlspace and rim joists; an electric-only customer gets far less for each measure, and only with electric heat or central air.

The thing most pages get wrong
Consumers' pages say 'up to $475' for insulation. That is the sum of the gas customer's top amounts ($200 attic, $125 walls and $50 each for basement, crawlspace and rim joists). The same five measures earn an electric-only customer $70, $50, $50, $10 and $20.
Start with a free analysis
Consumers' free Home Energy Analysis suggests upgrades and can install LED bulbs, showerheads, aerators and thermostats at no cost, then points to these rebates.
The rebate cannot exceed the cost
Each rebate is capped at the project's total cost, and only one rebate is paid per insulation measure at an address.
