Missouri Weatherization Assistance Program open
Administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of Energy, through 18 local weatherization agencies.
Free insulation, air sealing and heating repairs for Missouri homeowners, and renters with the landlord's permission, whose household income is up to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines: $66,000 a year for a family of four in 2026. You apply to the local agency, which audits the home and decides the work.

What it pays
No published cap — and that is the honest answer
Missouri's program page publishes no per-home maximum. The local agency's energy audit decides which cost-effective measures are installed, and a quality control inspector checks the work afterward.
The department funds 18 local agencies, with money divided by each area's share of the state's low-income households. It says more than 193,000 Missouri homes have been weatherized since 1977, and that weatherization saves on average $370 per house in heating and cooling costs each year.

The thing most pages get wrong
Missouri's own weatherization page sends readers to the 2022 federal poverty notice, and Spire's page heads its table '2026 federal annual income guidelines' while its text says to 'view the 2025 income guidelines', and it shows $64,300 for a family of four. The 2026 line at 200% of poverty is $66,000 for four.
Free upgrades from Ameren and Spire too
Ameren Missouri's CommunitySavers program, offered with Spire, installs free upgrades such as attic insulation and heating and cooling work for customers at or below 80% of area median income or 200% of poverty, in homes of up to four units. It runs through 31 December 2026, while funds last.
Plans on file
The department's state weatherization plans page lists plans for program years 2024 and 2025, the latest dated April 2025.
