RénoPlex open

Administered by the Ville de Montréal, under the Réflexe Montréal agreement with the province.

Montréal's renovation grant for buildings of one to five dwellings: up to $26,000 for a house and $52,000 for a building of two to five units, including $1,350 per dwelling to replace oil or gas heating with a central heat pump. With Rénovation Québec suspended, it is one of only two big-city renovation grants in Quebec still taking applications.

The thing most pages get wrong

Montréal's own heating page still points owners to the wrong programme. Updated in March 2026, it says Chauffez vert offers help to replace oil or propane heating; that grant ended on 31 March 2026. For a Montréal building, RénoPlex's heating lines and Hydro-Québec's LogisVert are what remain.

Landlords: it comes off the rent

Every subsidy a landlord receives, from any source, "doit être déduit[e] du coût total des travaux dans le calcul des loyers" [must be deducted from the cost of the work when rents are calculated].
