The thing most pages get wrong

Naperville's own pages describe the gas company's insulation rebates two ways: $100 to $400 for air sealing and insulation on one page, up to $2,850 on another. Nicor Gas's 2026 page pays $500 for air sealing, $400 for the attic, $150 to $200 for walls and $600 for ducts, through an approved contractor.

Pull the furnace, get $400 more

At 17 SEER2 the rebate is $1,800 if the gas furnace or boiler is removed and $1,400 if it stays as backup. Nicor Gas pays nothing toward the heat pump either way.
