New Jersey solar incentive (ADI SREC-II) open

Administered by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, run by TRC for New Jersey's Clean Energy Program.

New Jersey pays owners of new net-metered home solar systems in Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC-IIs): $77 for each megawatt-hour generated, for registrations received from 27 July 2026, down from $85. Registration is first come, first served in a 300 MW residential block until it fills or 1 June 2027.

What disqualifies you

The rules people find out about after the work is done.

  • A system that obtained permission to operate before acceptance into the program, unless the Board grants an exception.
  • Registrations after the residential block fills.

Where the application goes

Your installer registers the system in the ADI portal before it is switched on.

The thing most pages get wrong

The residential rate is no longer $85 per megawatt-hour. The Board cut it to $77 for registrations received on or after 27 July 2026, and an earlier registration that was incomplete and not cured within seven business days lost the higher rate.

Register before you switch on

The program bars 'commencing construction', defined as getting permission to operate, before acceptance. A system that is switched on first has to petition the Board.

The federal credit is gone

The 30% federal residential clean energy credit ended for systems placed in service after 31 December 2025. The Board's August 2025 waiver, letting projects start before acceptance, was a response to those federal changes.
