Energy Efficiency Incentive Program open
Administered by the Arctic Energy Alliance, funded by the Government of the Northwest Territories.
The Arctic Energy Alliance's any-income rebates for NWT homes: up to $8,000 for exterior wall insulation, $2,500 for a basement, half the cost of a wood or pellet stove up to $2,000, and smaller amounts on appliances and controls. Nothing that burns fossil fuel qualifies.

The thing most pages get wrong
The Arctic Energy Alliance offers no air source heat pump rebate for homes. The Arctic Energy Alliance's renewable programme lists ground source heat pumps in its introduction but not among the technologies it has approved, and its product rebates stop at stoves and controls.
Recent change
For 2026/27 the stove, thermostat and pump maximums went up, the amounts became the same for hydro and non-hydro communities except for LED lighting, and the product no longer has to be bought in the NWT.
Energy evaluations
The Arctic Energy Alliance subsidises EnerGuide evaluations of existing homes: $200 plus GST for a single house, $300 with one secondary suite, $400 with two.
