Who is eligible

who
EWEB electric customers; the account holder, owner or owner's representative signs, and EWEB must pre-approve heat pump projects before installation.
heat source
The heat pump must be the primary heat source; insulation rebates need electric heat serving at least 50% of the home.
income-based
For homes with existing electric heating and water heating; capped at $10,000 per customer and $10,000 per premises over 10 years.
loans
Based on credit report and EWEB credit history; all homeowners must apply.

Where the application goes

Apply online and get EWEB's pre-approval, then pick a contractor; EWEB mails the rebate to you or the contractor four to six weeks after approving the installation.

The thing most pages get wrong

DSIRE lists EWEB's heat pump water heater rebate as 'Standard: $900; Income-based: $1,700'. EWEB's own page says '$1100 rebate per heat pump water heater' and an income-based owner-occupied rebate of '$2200', and General Pacific and Jerry's Home Improvement Center take the $1,100 off at purchase.

Pre-approval comes first

EWEB's heat pump pages say 'Please apply and receive EWEB pre-approval before scheduling installation.' Insulation is best done after the heat pump, and do-it-yourself insulation must be approved by an EWEB project manager first.

Not on Energy Trust

EWEB customers are outside Energy Trust's electric incentives; HOMES and HEAR, when they launch, will be delivered here by Earth Advantage.
