The thing most pages get wrong
Thirty days, not ninety. The 2026 application must be received within 30 days of installation or by 31 December 2026, whichever comes first. Nicor Gas allows 90 days and ComEd 60, and a furnace installed in a cold snap is easy to forget until the window has shut.
A gas heat pump rebate with no form
The rebate page lists $575 and $700 for gas heat pumps, but the 2026 HVAC and water heating application has no section for them. Ask before counting on it.
Income-eligible households
Peoples Gas adds money to ComEd's Home Energy Savings, the state weatherization program and other providers for households under the income line, rather than paying rebates to them.
