City Water, Light & Power (Springfield) rebates open

Administered by City Water, Light & Power, the City of Springfield's utility.

Springfield's city utility pays a one-time rebate of $300 a ton for an air-source heat pump (its web page says from $200), $500 a ton for a new geothermal system with a new well field, $400 for a heat pump water heater and $100 a ton for an efficient air conditioner, mostly as a bill credit. A heat pump home also gets a 9% winter discount on its electric heating.

The thing most pages get wrong

CWLP's rebate page says heat pump rebates begin at $200 a ton. The residential form it links, whose terms date from November 2012, says $300 a ton for new and replacement air-source heat pumps. Ask Energy Services which it pays before you sign.

A dead federal credit, still advertised

The same page says the federal tax credit for air-source heat pumps is 30% of cost up to $2,000, under a banner about new and expanded federal credits. That credit ended for anything installed after 31 December 2025.

Low-income help shows last year

CWLP's Helping Homes page still shows the 2025 season's enrollment; the 2026 dates are not posted.
