Heat pump water heater rebates in British Columbia

A heat pump water heater is the cheapest way into these programmes, and the gap between the any-income rebate and the income-tested one is the widest of any upgrade — $1,000 against $3,500.

At any income

The CleanBC Home Renovation Rebate. No income test, but a programme-registered contractor is required for most measures.

Worth knowing before you commit

Equipment has to be on the qualifying list

Eligible systems are listed as Tier 2 or higher on NEEA's Advanced Water Heater Specification qualified products list. A unit that is not on it does not qualify, however efficient it is.

The northern uplift does not apply here

Unlike heat pumps, the heat pump water heater rebate is $1,000 whether the home is northern or not.
