Answered: one heating rebate per home, across programmes

The Energy Savings Program's requirements settle it: "Participants may only receive one rebate payment for a primary heating system ... and one rebate payment for a heat pump water heater" across this programme, the Energy Savings Program, FortisBC's income-qualified programme, ECAP and the other programmes it lists. A household can combine them for different upgrades, not for the same heat pump.

The bonus ends on 31 October

BC Hydro's bonus of $500 for a partial or $1,000 for a whole-home heat pump is only for homes converting from electric heat, only for work paid by 31 October 2026, and is clawed back if the equipment is removed within two years. It is the only B.C. heat pump offer with a 2026 end date on its page, and the likeliest thing behind searches for the rebate ending. Outside the north, this programme's heat pump rebates for homes switching from gas, oil or propane ended on 11 April 2025, and every municipal top-up with them.
